SARAH: “Hey girl, I need your help.  I just lost my job and I know you have some connections.  Plus, my husband has gotten really abusive.  I need to get out of this situation, asap.”

SUZY:  “Okay, I’ll help you.  You know I got your back.”

SARAH:  “Thanks! I love you.”

SUZY:  “Love you too.”

Two months later.

SARAH:  “Hey girl, it’s me again.”

SUZY:  “I haven’t heard from you in a while.  Seems like you only call me when you need my help.”

SARAH:  “I know, I know.  I am so sorry for not taking your advice.  I went back to my husband.  I know you said that would be a bad idea.  But I was lonely.  Now it seems like he’s even worst.  Can you please buy me a plane ticket to get out of here?  I am tired of this.”

SUZY:  “Okay, I’ll help you.”

SARAH:  “Thank you SO much! I love you!”

SUZY:  “Love you too.”

6 months later.

SARAH:  “Hey girl, it’s me.”

SUZY:  “Hey.”

SARAH:  “I know it’s been a while.  I appreciate all that you do.  I know that I keep going back to the same problems.  I promise I won’t do it again.  This is getting crazier by the minute.  Can you help me?”

SUZY:  “Once I help you, you always go right back.”

SARAH:  “I know,  it won’t happen again.  I’m done!” [crying]  “I’m so sincere.”

SUZY:  “Okay.  I’ll help you.”

SARAH:  “Thank you! I love you!!”

SUZY:  “Love you too.”

How many of you would stop helping?   How many of you are thinking ‘Suzy is crazy.  Sarah keeps using her.  Obviously Sarah isn’t being honest’?  A lot of us go through this same scenario with God.  He delivers us out of certain situations and we go right back.  The Bible tells us in Matthew 12:43-45; 43 “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. 45 Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.” NIV.

When God delivers you from something, do not go back.  Each time you go back , it gets worst.  God has so much compassion for us that He will come to the rescue.  Even though He doesn’t come when we want Him, He’s always on time.  Human beings become irritated when some one only calls in times of trouble.  We’re quick to tell some one “I’m tired of you using me”.  Imagine if God told us “I’m tired of YOU using ME.”

  1. Preeeeeeeeach, go head on homie. You tell it!!!!! 🙂
